XYLAZINE, ADULTERANTS, AND CONTAMINANTS IN STREET SUPPLY

IN-PERSON DIDACTIC TRAINING WITH VIRTUAL OPTION: Will be held on Friday, April 21 at 7:30am EDT. Registration is now open.

TIME OF TRAINING: Two Hours

This is the third didactic of a live webinar, in-person, and enduring recorded course series that will use a standardized, evidence-based substance use disorder (SUD) prevention, treatment, harm reduction, and recovery curriculum to train and inform New Jersey health care licensees with prescribing authority, in compliance with federal and state statutory and regulatory guidelines. This in-person didactic with a didactic “live” webinar option is designed to inform New Jersey health care professionals with prescribing authority and all members of the interdisciplinary care team on the epidemiology and pharmacology of xylazine, medical management of xylazine withdrawal, wound care management and harm reduction, and co-treatment of opioid use disorder (OUD). It is designed for the Southern NJ MAT Center of Excellence Mercer County Addiction Breakfast Club group and content will be made available to all health care professionals on a global scale post-event.

TARGET AUDIENCE: Physicians; Physician Assistants (PAs); Certified Nurse Midwives (CNMs); Advanced Practice Nurses (APNs); Psychologists; Marriage and Family Therapists; Social Workers; Professional Counselors; All Health Care Professional Team Members

LEARNING OBJECTIVES: At the conclusion of this activity, participants will be able to:

Available Continuing Medical Education (CME) Credits for Physicians:

Rowan-Virtua School of Osteopathic Medicine (Rowan-Virtua SOM) is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

Rowan–Virtua SOM designates this live activity for 2 AMA PRA Category 1 credits™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

To receive full credit, you must be present for the entire in-person didactic or didactic “live” webinar activity.

To receive a certificate of completion, and CME certificate, complete the Pre-Course and Post-Course Assessments, Attestation Form, and Outcome Survey/Evaluation.

Certificates of Completion for Other Health Care Professionals:
Upon successful completion of the in-person didactic, participants will receive a certificate of completion, and should retain it in accordance with their relevant licensing board’s regulations.

To receive full credit, you must be present for the entire in-person didactic or didactic “live” webinar activity.

All health care professionals must complete the Pre-Course and Post-Course Assessments, Attestation Form, and Outcome Survey/Evaluation to receive a certificate of completion. Upon completion of these items, physicians will receive a CME certificate.
