This podcast is one of 18 interviews that will provide standardized, comprehensive, easily accessible, evidence-based education on best practices and current laws regarding opioids for professionals throughout the State. This 1 recorded podcast interview focuses on the incidence of suicide from opiate overdose, how to assess the risk for suicide in persons with OUD, and strategies for training individuals working on the frontline of the opioid epidemic on how to spot the signs of suicide risk from opiates and how to intervene.

OBJECTIVES: At the conclusion of this activity, participants will be able to:
- Convey the difference between a suicide attempt and an overdose
- Identify strategies for treating Substance Use Disorder and mental health disorders
- Recognize the signs of a person who may be at risk of suicide
