Pseudoaddiction vs. Undertreated Chronic Pain from AVN is a recorded opioid safety grand round that will provide standardized, comprehensive, easily accessible, evidence-based education on best practices and current laws regarding opioids for professionals throughout the State. This 1 live case study focuses on the development of avascular necrosis, pseudoaddiction versus undertreated pain, how to interpret subjective pain symptoms into appropriate types of pain, and how to identify different types of pain and how to treat them.

TARGET AUDIENCE: New Jersey Physicians; Podiatrists; Physician Assistants; Certified Nurse Midwives; Dentists; Advanced Practice Nurses; Social Workers; Psychologists; Marriage & Family Therapists; Professional Counselors; Athletic Trainers; Dentists; and Pharmacists.

  2. Differentiate pseudoaddiction from the presentation of undertreated pain 
  3. Interpret subjective pain symptoms into appropriate type of pain 
  4. Identify different types of pain and associated treatments for each
