“Why Black People Live Sicker and Die Younger”

Dr. LaVeist is the recipient of the 2022 AAMC Herbert W. Nickens Award which is given to an individual who has made outstanding contributions to promoting justice in medical education and health care equity in the United States.  This presentation (originally presented at the 2022 AAMC Learn Serve Lead Annual Meeting) explores the social determinants of healthcare disparities in the United States.
