“Climate Health: An Evolving Threat Requiring Novel Approaches"
As we confront the growing challenges posed by climate change and environmental degradation, it is crucial to recognize their profound impact on public health. These global issues are directly linked to a range of medical conditions, from respiratory and cardiac illnesses to vector-borne diseases, and they disproportionately affect vulnerable populations. As educators and healthcare providers, we have a responsibility not only to understand these connections but also to prepare the next generation of physicians to address them. Integrating climate and planetary health into medical education is essential for equipping our students and residents with the knowledge and skills they need to navigate this evolving landscape. This session explorex the intersections of climate, health, and medical education, and discuss strategies for incorporating these critical topics into our curricula to ensure that future physicians are well-prepared to meet the challenges ahead.
