Rowan Online and the Faculty Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning are excited to offer the Advanced Online Teaching Techniques course. The course is 5 weeks and 100% online in Canvas.
The goal is to allow participants to research an area of online teaching they would like to improve in an online course and develop a plan to implement this improvement, while discussing online pedagogical strategies that are considered best practices. The participant will present their research findings live to the instructor and peers who are available during a recorded Zoom session. This project will be archived, so it can be shared.
The Advanced Online Teaching Techniques course is free for official Rowan University employees and Rowan College affiliate employees, including adjunct faculty and professional staff who have previously been participants of Faculty Online Teaching (FOT) or Online Teaching Basics Part 1 and 2 (OTB1 & OTB2) or any Rowan faculty member who teaches online.
The work consists of readings, research, discussion posts and replies, journal reflections, individual assignments, and a presentation. All who complete each course with a B or better will receive a Certificate of Completion from Rowan Online and the Faculty Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning.
