As part of the comprehensive continuing medical education (CME) training course series from the Southern NJ MAT Center of Excellence (SNJMATCOE), New Jersey health care licensees with prescribing authority, who are practicing in New Jersey, will be able to follow up to the didactic and asynchronous trainings and participate in elbow-to-elbow consultation bookings on-site at their external clinical practices or on-site at Cooper University Health Care and Rowan Medicine, divided as one eight-hour or two four-hour sessions. While any interested clinical practice site throughout the state may request consultation, clinical practice sites that have had at least one of their prescribers on staff complete a training as part of this program will be prioritized for a consultation. This component will enable the multidisciplinary and experienced SNJMATCOE clinical team to have an on-the-ground perspective of each institution’s processes and challenges in order to provide personalized guidance and recommendations.
“Office hours” remote consultation bookings will also be offered and last up to one hour, wherein one physician and on occasion in partnership with one navigator specialist will host scheduled virtual office hours in which prescribers can call in for remote consultation.
All participants who register for and complete a listed course and/or booking will receive prescriber education and health communication resources created for this series.
Learn more about CME didactic and asynchronous trainings and non-CME trainings on our SNJMATCOE Training Series webpage.

ABOUT THE SOUTHERN NJ MAT CENTER OF EXCELLENCE
As part of Governor Phil Murphy’s initiative to combat the overdose crisis, the New Jersey Department of Human Services (NJ DHS) collaborated with Rutgers New Jersey Medical School (RNJMS) in Northern New Jersey, and Cooper University Health Care and Rowan University in Southern New Jersey to develop MAT Centers of Excellence (MATCOEs) as part of the MATRx model of integrated care for SUD in the state.
The SNJMATCOE launched on July 1, 2019, and has since succeeded in expanding networking, medication services, and referrals across the state while simultaneously expanding care in the Cooper University Health Care Center for Healing and NeuroMusculoskeletal Institute (NMI) at Rowan–Virtua School of Osteopathic Medicine (Rowan–Virtua SOM).
